Left, Can’s can of Turkish okra, otherwise known as their classic 1972 album, Ege Bamyasi. Right, Stephen Malkmus, ex-frontman of 1990s indie gods Pavement, and German band Von Spar, performed the entire album of Ege Bamyasi at Cologne’s Week-End Fest in 2012. The recording was released in limited edition green vinyl (with a cover by David Shrigley) on Record Store Day that year; as of last month it was finally released to stream.
