Cornish roundabouts in infrared

Every time my parents come to Cornwall, they are exasperated by the numerous mini double roundabouts which frequent the county (they probably have them elsewhere, too, but it feels like they’re mostly in Kernow. The U.K. apparently has the most roundabouts in the world). Well, why make do with one big roundabout when you can have two small ones?

Though I hate roads and cars, I quite like roundabouts, an oasis amongst the tarmac, as they say. Last year, the hedgehog roundabout in Truro (two minutes from where I work) was voted best roundabout in the U.K.

My daughter, being sophisticated and cosmopolitan, prefers French roundabouts to English ones, finding them “interesting and pretty”. I vaguely remember liking the ones in Peru and wanting to do a photo project of them. I think they all consisted of garish brutalist sculptures.
